Eighth and last release on Express Love Riddim by Yah Man Records, label from Salento founded by Morello Selecta. On the riddim, recorded in Trepuzzi at Mad Vibes Studio by Morello Selecta on bass guitar, Papa Leo on guitar, Maestro Garofalo on keyboards and Fossa Drummer on drums, we’ve already listen to some of the most important voices of the reggae scenery. In order we had Blass, Sandra Cross, Carlton Livingston, Angela Garzia, Ras Tt, Ras Fraser, Reddman Uk and Abajonai. To top it up, we end with one of the most beautiful Ska, reggae and soul voices of Jamaica, Mr. Richie Stephens. After the collaboration with Ska Nation Band and the launch of their new album Internationally, he spent last summer in Salento. On this occasion he had the opportunity to learn more about the cultural and lifestyle aspects of this land. In fact his version on the riddim is called “Place Call Salento”. In this song Richie Stephens sings about his feelings during his stay in the heel of Italy’s boot. He describes Salento like a place full of positive energy, rich in reggae and dancehall vibes and, thanks to his contribution, also Ska. In “Place Call Salento” he refers also to Sud Sound System, real pioneers of this musical gender in Salento, with great respect, and to Ska Nation Band, that he consider his Italian family. Let My People Go is song of powerful and resonating lyrics that came to Abajonai most naturally. His inspiration came from the “Most High after traveling to different places and observing whats happening in the world. This track is a voice and chant for people that’s being “oppressed’ in different ways.
The lyrical content of this song explains the injustices that’s taking place worldwide, however through prayer and education one can get passed this point. Hope and Faith echos throughout the entire song that one day equal rights and justice will be gained.

Yahman Records, the up and coming label from Salento founded by Morello Selecta, is gaining great success thanks to the voice of important artists like Blass, Sandra Cross, Carlton Livingston, Ras Tt and Ras Fraser. For the sixth and last release we have an artist from Uk: Redd Man. He’s a musical engineer, writer and artist who has been DJ-ing for 15 years. A voice that stands out from the rest, his music is a mix of Reggae, Bashment, Dancehall and Hip Hop. After his first exhibition at NW10 of London, he took part in “Stonebridge Park Talent Quest” and earned the first place. In the year to come Redd Man performed alongside Elephant Man in clubs and met his long term friend Gappy Ranks. They started to tour all Uk together with great success. After this, he signed a contract with “Jam Down Records” and recorded his hit track “Hanging out”. Now is the right time to invest on his own recording studio. With a Cd mixed in 2012 and a collaboration with the producer “Sadface” of Impressive Music Entertainment on his Ep “Talk of the Town” , Reddman also worked with HCMG BasslineRock Productions, Riverside Productions, Kimichi Records, PushaYoutes Productions and finally with Morello Selecta on Express Love Riddim, composed by Papa Leo on guitars, Maestro Garofalo on keyboards, Morello Selecta on bass guitar and Fossa Drummer on drums. ReddMan’s version “Where is the love” has a very deep lyric and is now available on all digital stores.

The fifth release of Yah Man Records, the up and coming label from Salento founded by the sound engineer Morello Selecta , is out today. We first listened to Blass (JAM), Sandra Cross (UK), Carlton Livingston (JAM) and Angela Garzia (IT) on Express Love Riddim, skilfully created by Morello and his close friends from Bag a Riddim Band. On this riddim produced by Yah Man Records we can listen to the drums of Fossa Drummer, the guitar of Papa Leu, the keyboards of Maestro Alessandro Garofalo and the bass guitar of Morello. On the fifth release of the indipendent label we have some really special artists. We are talking about two brothers from Uk, Ras Fraser and Ras Tt, sons of the veteran reggae artist Philip Fraser. Ras Tt was born in London and lived in Jamaica until 2002, when he decided to go back to the Uk to carry on his passion for music. Along with his group R&B “Flammable Ent”, he gained more experience in the music industry. After he reached a good artistic sensibility, he went back to the Caribbean where he worked with big icons of reggae music such as Sugar Minott, Mega Bunton and Errol Dunkly. Rich in positive vibes he worked again in England with groups such as “Nutty Energy” and “Limitlus Ent”. In 2011 he produced a song with Gappy Ranks “Before I die”. Thanks to this collaboration they became great friends. We can see that Ras Tt is a young artist but already able to go easily from a music gender to another . His brother Ras Fraser debuted for his first time at the age of 7 whit his father Philip Fraser at the Fort Clarence Beach of Portmore. When he went to the high school he started to properly learn the teachings of the Rastafari and the beliefs of Prince Emmanuel. His career takes off in 1999 when he recorded his first single “No escape” for Razor Sound Records. The first album of Ras Fraser Junior is “Roots my time”. He still works for Razor Sound Records label. In 2012 he went to Jamaica with his brother to record a song and make a documentary called “Neverous Reaction”.Well-known in Sweden and in Berlin for his collaboration with the popstar Elliphant, he performed in Miami, California, Kingston and Canada. Talent, true grit and a positive message to the youths are the main features of the music of this artist. All you have to do is to listen to the version of this two brothers, Ras Tt and Ras Fraser on Express Love Riddim to discover them..

Los Angeles, CA: Singer Richie Stephens & The Ska Nation Band are heading to Hollywood in November. The Ska group earned a nomination for ‘Best Reggae Album’ at the 7th annual Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA) that takes place on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at The Fonda Theater, 6126 Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles, CA.
The nomination comes less than a year after the release of the group’s debut studio album Internationally, which include hit singles Fire Fire, Foundation, Internationally feat. Sud Sound System, Kingston Salento and Original Style feat. Sean Paul & Gentleman.
“Wow! God is truly amazing! We are overwhelmed to have earned our first nomination at the HMMA Awards. I am fired up about how things are going with us so far” said Stephens from his home in Kingston, Jamaica.
Ska Nation Band member Papa Leu was just as elated.
“This first nomination is a special moment in my music career that I will treasure for the rest of my life. I would like to thank our fans, especially those here in Italy, the rest of Europe, Jamaica, the USA and Canada. We also thank our management team for believing in us” Leu noted.

Richie Stephens is a popular jamaican singer and producer , GRAMMY AWARD winner; with Motown and other prestigious label background, where also Rihanna recently sampled the “Sail Away” riddim produced by his own label Pot of Gold in her single Work, interpret the song that symbolizes the Neapolitan repertoire.

This is the first time in history where a jamaican artist performed a song entirely in old neapolitan language.
In Less than a week Richie studied at his best the way to use his voice , pronunciation and the magic mean of the song and recorded the song in only 45 minutes.
To perform the song at the best, Richie Stephens , collaborated with some of the greatest master and teachers : the mandolin player Antonio Calsolaro (one of the major frontman of the salento traditional music by 3 generation, violin player Roberta Mazzotta which has been member of Cherubini Orchestra (directed by Riccardo Muti), the Tenor singer Raffaele Pastore from La Fenice in Venice and Petruzzelli theater in Bari.
Strong by his project with the duo Rankin Lele & Papa Leu , Stephens wanted to propose this new version of “O SOLE MIO” in Ska key,
Skanation band created the perfect sound capable to blend and harmonizes to the maximum with a song so popular on a planetary level.
A tribute to italian’s music heritage and culture that states the stong legacy between Jamaica and our country.

Out now the fourth release of Yahman Records, label from Salento founded by the sound engineer Morello Selecta. After the Jamaican singer Blass, a brand new reggae and dancehall artist, Sandra Cross, reggae singer from Great Britian, and Carlton Livingston, veteran artist well-known for his major hit “100 weights of collie weeds”, this time we’re glad to listen on the Express Love Riddim Angela Garzia. The riddim, strictly from the south of Italy, is composed by Fossa Drummer on drums, Papa Leo on guitar , Maestro Garofalo Keyboard and Morello Selecta on bass guitar. The name of Angela Garzia may sound quite new, as a matter of fact this girl is a promising artist from Salento aged only 21.
Angela, from Squinzano, sings since the age of 13 and although she’s really young she already knows how to deal with different styles like pop, rock, jazz, swing working with NewCodec, Hot Staff, Line Acustica, Hollywood Party and many more.
She also had some experience in theater and performed in the role of Beatrice in the Divine Comedy.
For Angela this is the first experience in the international reggae scenery and she will definitely show her talent also on this genre with her song on “Express Love Riddim” called “It’s time to live”.

label from Salento Yahman Record, out on the 10th of July. On this riddim
we’ve already listen to the young reggae/dancehall singer Blass with “Smiling Face”
and the famous British singer Sandra Cross with “Dancing the night away”.
Now we’re glad to listen to a very important name in the reggae international scenery
such as Carlton Livingston, veteran artist from Jamaica.
This versatile artist that comes from the suburb of Trench Town
is a singer, producer and record executive.
He worked for the legendary Studio One of Kingston and was
the author of many hits including the famous song dedicated to ganja “100 Weight of Collie Weed”. In the music industry from the 70s, Livingston is on the Express Love with his “Still Single”, a tribute to all the free and rebel ladies.

Yah Man Records, strictly from Salento, is out with the second production on “Express Love Riddim”.
We found Morello Selecta on bass guitar and three components of the Bag a Riddim (official band of Sud Sound System):
Fossa Drummer on drums, Papa Leo on guitar and Maestro Garofalo on keyboards.
On this riddim you can already listen and download “Smiling Faces” from Jamaican artist Blass,
available from the 10th of May on all digital stores. This time we’re glad to present the veteran British artist Sandra Cross.
She started singing at the age of 9 as a solo artist in the choir of Pentecostal Church where she belonged.
When she was only 14 she started to record her first songs with a friend in a group called Love & Unity.
“I adore you”, recorded in 76 Records studio, soon got famous for winning a popular British talent show.
Furthermore it was first on the Britian’s reggae chart for four weeks on 1979. What has really been crucial for her career was meeting Mad Professor,
well-known reggae- dub selector and owner of Ariwa Records. He choosed Sandra and formed a band of only female reggae singers called Wild Bunch.
Their album was in the Reggae Top 20 Chart. This is a great opportunity for Sandra to travel in Europe and to think about
his career again as a solo artist. A career that will be full of success, her single “Country Living” will be on top of the
British chart for ten weeks. She will win the British Reggae Award as best female artist for six years, from 1985 to 1991.
Her particular style that goes from reggae to jazz and a bit of soul, is extremely interesting.
